My name is Sol, but here between us, you can call me Sunny! This is one of many websites i've made over the past year or two. I grow easily bored of my websites when I'm done making them, so they undergo drastic changes or just get remade on a new account altogether. Happened with this one! My old site hasn't been updated in months, and probably never will again. Oops!
Just like every webmaster says, this is my own little corner of the internet. I made my original website as a way to escape from social media, but currently, I'd like to treat this site like an escape from the things i do on social media. Online I post artwork, I try to be funny, and remain somewhat impersonal. Here I'd treat this like my bedroom. Longer blog posts, journal entries, photo albums... and whatever else I come up with later. This is my corner of the world wide web and I'd like to make it as personal as possible. Also, I love goats.
have any thoughts? ideas for this site? media recommendations? death threats? sign my guestbook!

Name: Sol (call me Sunny!)
Birthday: August 13th
Argentinian, professionally tired
hi there. i'm currently an 18 yr old highschool student finishing his last year in a school he hates. my name is sol for a lot of reasons. people who like me say i have a smile as bright as the sun, people who dislike me say that i have rage like the sun on a hot summer's day. i was born on a sunday, my mother's got a tattoo of a sun she got done soon after, my pre-birth song was "here comes the sun", and i feel the most relaxed when i'm sunbathing. i contain multitudes, and i'm on neocities to organize and share them as best as i can.
why a website? why not a journal? why not privacy? why not life outside of this laptop screen? most of my life i've found myself online. as a kid i played online videogames on websites that are no longer up. as a slightly older kid i watched so much youtube that formed parts of me. as an older kid i watched tv shows online, helping me to learn the english that now connects me with the people i'd call my realest and closest friends. and my partner. i simply can't think of a way to store all aspects of my person that aren't on a url with wifi connection.
i like art. in all its shapes and forms. i can't imagine a life where i don't make art. my art is personal. my art is deeply personal. i'm simply unable to create things that aren't painted with my own blood, i've tried to make art that isn't viscerally personal. i'm unable to. i've been an open book of personality and connections to myself my whole entire life. there's not art on this website yet though. maybe one day there will be. i'm not interested in sharing my artwork here, though. this website is, in a way, my most personal piece of art.
neocities is artwork in the shape of code. neocities is people who have uploaded themselves on the internet. neocities is the kind of painted with digital blood art i always felt i needed. every website here is a person. every website here is an art piece. every website here says so much about who made it. every website here is a human being.
it's part of why i'm obsessed with identity. i've had several websites over the past few years, and i like to think it was one for every person i was. today i am a new person. this year, 2024, i am a new person altogether. i started from scratch on a new account to represent the new human that's being born from my old self, or something. it's not a coincidence to me that i'm starting this new art piece just as i begin to seek hormonal replacement treatment. (october 2024). today i am sol, a person transitioning. maybe some day this website will belong to someone new, and it'll look completley different. enjoy this while it lasts.
i keep a journal for reflections and self therapy. i keep this website for everything else. i'm the type of guy that uses notion and calendars and planners to organize everything. i'm the type of guy that stops and smells the flowers. i'm the type of guy to launch into poetic reflections on life from the smallest things. i'm the type of guy who practices philosophy without having studied it at all. i'm the type of guy that's been described as "too creative for his own good". i'm the type of guy that you find in art shows, in pretentious buildings. i'm the type of guy that hosts his own website and calls it an art piece.
i hope you'll like me
thoughts? comments? ideas? something cool that happened you today? tell me all about it in my email. solduaca@gmail.com. seriously. if you've read this far, if you liked my site at all; i encourage emails about whatever you want to tell me.
